Effective on-site clinics provide personalized care to every one of our patients. This commitment to personalized care guides every facet of each clinic’s operation. It all starts with the design of a clinic. Let’s take a look at what goes into an on-site clinic setup.
A clinic’s location should acknowledge every employee’s ability to access the clinic. We work with our client's facilities team to design a clinic based on their needs, and adjust the clinic’s location and design as necessary.
At Seattle Children’s Hospital, their clinic was placed near-site instead of on-site so the hospital could have more space for beds and prioritize the needs of their unique population of patients. NAPEBT in Flagstaff had a different problem. Their employees were spread out in different municipalities. So, Vera worked with NAPEBT staff to map out employee homes so they could position the clinic in a way that minimized everyone’s commute.
Examining population data offers multiple opportunities to create a clinic that’s specific to your employees. Here are just a few of the ways we use population data.
On-site clinics work because better access is one of the key drivers of better health outcomes. Your clinic’s operating hours should be set so that all of your employees can find time to make it to an appointment. Here are just a few of the considerations when determining your operating hours.
Dedicated care teams are the core of the Vera model. Without great providers, health coaches, and medical staff, we can’t empower patients to take ownership of their health and make positive behavior changes. A staffing plan should be driven by a thorough evaluation of your population data. This will allow you to know the specific needs of your employees and find providers and health coaches who meet those needs.
Once hired, our staff attend a two-week training and on boarding course that starts in Seattle, where Vera is based. During training, we emphasize empathetic listening, behavior change, and other Vera standards of care. Our goal is to have a ready clinic, with engaged staff prepared to deliver quality care.
